Simply reset the original factory settings under the options tab and settings tab and it fixed both issues. Duh.I hope they come back when the "IF" the economy gets better, I for one think they have a great product at a very very competitive price. Such as the volume issues and the problem saving favorites.
LOL Also like to mention the issue that some have mentioned about the routing and their observance of its choice verses theirs. I have compared the rest and bought the best. Why did you need a GPS for if you already know how to get their.
I am a previous owner (2 years) of a 7100 and loved it, now I purchased a 7200T a week ago and I was a little disappointed until I figured out how to fix the problems I had been reading about and had also experienced. Now I am a happy camper, this is by far the best GPS I have seen or used, it is somewhat complicated the first time out of the box, but worth the time to learn and that's what life is about learning new challenging things.Simple after you use it a few times and its not cartoonish like some of the others that even a fifth grader can operate. I hope this is helpful
The problems came about after downloading the newest software, no it's not the software causing the problems, but the settings seem to be the cause. This may very well fix some other issues that I didn't experience.
I reset the thing over and over. Apparently this is an issues for others also. The GPS would not load.
After four hours of attempting to get this thing to work, I packed it up and sent it back the same day. I purchased a Tom Tom 740 Go live. I do not have time, nor do I want to purchase anything that I have to call support straight out of the box.
Straight out of the box was a problem. I contacted the support by E-mail and was told I had to wait 24-48 hours for a response. A much better experience.
I did everything the instructions suggested. I charged it completely, downloaded software to no avail.
I've been using it for more than a month now and I love it. This is the best gps for the price ($199.99) offered. Thanks to Amazon for their great service. Good job Navigon. It comes with life time traffic alert and also has lane assistance. There are lots of other standard features too.
Their customer service page is a maze of links which never lead to the actual download. The Navigon has a wider screen than some GPS. They have not responded to my inquiries. The routing is a bit quirky to say the least. From Navigon's own website it is apparent that they are ending production of dedicated GPS units to work on GPS apps for iPhone, etc.
Overall, lots of features, but not too easy to use or master, and good luck getting any customer service. These were the kind of quirks I was hoping would be fixed by a software upgrade, which is apparently now not likely to happen. On many trips though, I thought the routing was comparable to my old Garmin, but overall, a bit less trustworthy. It gets one star because of these critical customer service issues.
The actual unit has some admirable features. I bought the 7200T with an eye primarily to being able to upgrade it in the future. 1 onto a much smaller street, which goes through a pretty disreputable neighborhood. I tried it on my commute to work, which I know well. The speed limit appears as an icon resembling a speed limit sign. I found the displayed speed limit to be accurate for the great majority of the roads I was on, and noticed the displayed speed limit usually changed quickly when I drove past a new speed limit sign.
Not much of a problem for a local in the daytime, but pretty scary for a visitor at night. You can select what information is to be displayed, although the flexibility is a bit limited.
This was totally incorrect and unnecessary.
In Orlando, on a couple of routes, it took me south on a toll road, then wanted me to exit, and get right back on northbound, causing double tolls. Although Navigon.com says there is a software upgrade, I haven't been able to access it.
It wanted to divert me off of US. The Navigon can optionally display the speed limit, which it apparently knows for most roads.
They claim to still be honoring the "Fresh Maps" service, but I pity anyone who paid in advance for that. This extra space is mostly for additional information rather than more map image.
don't know why this was switched off. I thought this new GPS will help full. I return this product as I don't have any option to keep. Route recalculating is also took longer time compared to Garmin. I tested this on my regular commute but GPS tested my patience. Couple of times it automatically switched off.
